SPECIFIC PARAFFINS FOR VITICULTURAL NURSERIES

paraffin waxing phases for viticultural nursery

Obtaining a vine shoot for a quality vineyard is given by a combination of technological and productive factors, which result in the nursery keeper's sensibility of doing the right thing, with the right equipment, at the right moment.

Our Company, based on decades of experience, and thanks to the use of different types of paraffins and equipment, has made an important qualitative leap significantly reducing production costs of grafted vine shoots, thus obtaining improved nursery techniques.

First paraffin waxing

This is carried out by immersion after omega grafting has been carried out and before forcing it in a hot, humid environment, over the entire grafting area.

During this phase red PLASTIGREFFE 6535 "OF" in beads is used which is enriched by hormonal substances of the auxinic group favouring cellular multiplication processes and therefore callogenesis, or red PLASTIFINA 6535 in sheets(without additives) may be used.

Red paraffins

PLASTIGREFFE 6535 "OF"

red in HORMONED beads

Special paraffin for the protection of the grafting point.

Indicative consumption:
0.8-1 kg/1000 scion grafts.

red paraffin sheets

PLASTIFINA 6535

red in sheets WITHOUT additives

Special paraffin for the protection of the grafting point.

Indicative consumption:
0.8-1 kg/1000 scion grafts.

white paraffins

PLASTIFINA 6322

white beads

Neutral paraffin, for cutting,
compatible with Plastigreffe and Plastifina.

Second paraffin waxing

After the formation and maturation of the callus, paraffin must be distributed on the entire part that remains above ground in the nursery, in order to keep the delicate cells of the callus and epigeal tissues well hydrated. For this purpose PLASTIFINA 7321 TOP BLU in beads, or PLASTIFINA 7535  green in beads and PLASTIFINA 7075 brown in sheets or NUOVA PARAFIN Croatia yellow in sheets , pure or mixed together, are used. The nursery keeper's know-how and experience allows him/her the use and adaptation of various paraffins in different climatic areas.

PLASTIFINA

NEW

PLASTIFINA 7321 top blu

Blue beads

Special elastic paraffin with a high
fusion point for the protection of grafted
budding shoots before implanting them in the nursery.
It creates an elastic, uniform and heat resistant film.

Indicative consumption:
2.5-3 k/1000 grafted budding shoots.

brown paraffin

PLASTIFINA 7075

brown sheets

Hard paraffin with a high fusion point

Indicative consumption:
2.5-3 kg/1000 grafted budding shoots.

plastifina

PLASTIFINA 7535

green beads

Plastic paraffin with a high fusion point.

Indicative consumption:
2,6-3 kg/1000 grafted budding shoots.

nuova parafin Croatia

nuova PARAFIN "croatia"

yellow sheets

Mixture of paraffins with high fusion points and moderate elasticity.

Indicative consumption:
2.5-3 kg/1000 grafted budding shoots.

Third paraffin waxing

It is customary by now to paraffin wax the grafted shoots even before implanting them, using Mediterranean green PLASTIFINA 7225 in beads, pure ones. This avoids having to tuck the shoot, and ensures good protection at low temperatures even in refrigerated rooms.
